Rheumatoid and Eye Problems
An addendum to my previous post: Cataract surgery often increases dry eye in people with Rheumatoid (44% of people with Rheumatoid have dry eye). Fortunately, I’ve never had dry eye, and I didn’t get it after my first eye cataract surgery. People with dry eye use drops to optimize the eye surface before cataract surgery. But rheumatoid causes other eye issues, mostly related to out-of-control inflammation or the use of steroids. In recent years, rheumatologists have aimed to reduce long-term steroid use.
